AI embryo selection technology - the fortune of advancec maternal age (AMA)

New choice for advancec maternal age (AMA)
The 40-year-old Miss A has never given birth. When she first came to LWH, her AMH was only 0.4

Before this couple visited LWH, Miss. A had already done IUI twice. Her husband's sperm was not in good condition with low amount and low motility, which greatly increased the chance of failure. Commonly, it is recommended to have at least 15 million or more active sperm to succeed in IUI. Her husband's sperm condition and her advanced age are the reasons for declining pregnancy rate. In order to increase the chance of pregnancy, Dr. Chun-I Lee suggested this couple try IVF.

Due to the low AMH value, Miss A has only a few ova. Considering the condition of Miss. A, Dr. Lee has decided to collect eggs in three ovum retrieval treatments. The first treatment was a short protocol with 4 eggs collected. The second treatment was a long protocol with 7 eggs collected by stimulating the pituitary gland. And the last long protocol had collected 11 eggs. In total, 22 eggs were collected.

The embryologist of the Reproductive Medicine Center carried out the fusion of sperm and egg and after five days of culture, only 4 embryos could go through PGT-A (Preimplantation Genetic Testing for Aneuploidy), which 2 were abnormal and 2 were normal.

Dr. Lee suggested using AI embryo selection technology to find well-developed embryos for implantation.

How does AI embryo selection technology work?
In the past, it was necessary to carry out "chromosome screening" and "embryo appearance " at the same time to determine the quality of the embryo.

However, with the advent of AI embryo selection, the "Time-lapse" and "AI algorithm & decision tree" are used to assist in predicting the ploidy status. At the same time, well-developed embryos are selected as implantation options.

Like Miss A, when there are few eggs and AMA, every embryo is precious.
Embryo quality is one of the key factors affecting the success rate of pregnancy.
The pregnancy rate of embryo selected by AI will be 3 times higher than ordinary IVF protocol, the overall pregnancy rate will increase to more than 80% and the miscarriage rate will also drop to 5%.

Eventually, Miss A has successfully pregnant and gave birth to a cute little angel.

Dr. Chun-I Lee says, ' The time and money of our patients are precious. It is our responsibility to choose the embryo precisely.'

Chromosomal abnormalities are barriers to undergoing IVF. This is one of the reasons why IVF repeated failure or miscarriages.

Many patients always ask, 'Do I even need AI ? I have done PGT-A.'

In fact, these two technologies do not conflict with each other. AI embryo selection can select the embryo with better growth potentials, and PGT-A can identify numerical chromosomal abnormalities (aneuploidy).

Dr. Chun-I Lee has presented his study about AI embryo selection at "European Conference on Human Reproduction and Embryology" and published in the medical journal RBMO. This study received big recommendations from fertility experts in nearly 80 countries!
The world's leading "fourth generations of AI IVF" will light up the happiness of life for mothers.
With this technology, LWH has already assisted nearly 1,000 women with successful pregnancies.
