【Donor conditions】
Between the age of 20 and 34 years old, with a height of more than 155cm.
With BMI value between 18 and 24. Holds a Taiwan ID card and have never been a donor or a donee, nor given birth before and have no remaining embryos.
People who are of various blood types and who are physically and mentally healthy with no bad habits.
【Examinations before donation】- General physical condition and mental illness
- Genetic diseases (including: a history of autosomal abnormalities, epilepsy, history of hemophilia, thalassemia, diabetes, family history of color blindness, and so forth)
- Infectious diseases (including: syphilis, gonorrhea, AIDS, hepatitis B HBsAg, chlamydia infection, and so forth), family disease history, blood test (including blood type)
- Male: semen test / Female: AMH ovarian function test
If any of the above items are found to be unqualified, they will not be paired with you!

⋙ Donation condition
- Between the age of 20 and 34 years old(Not suitable for moms who are pregnant or breastfeeding)
- Height of more than 155cm
- BMI value between 18 and 24
- Nor given birth before and have no remaining embryos
- Who are physically and mentally healthy with no bad habits
⋙ Donation Process
1. Make appointment
A. Online registration/call in for inquiry.
B. Receive a phone call within a week.
C. Arrange consultation and health checkup.
D. Wait for the report of the health checkup (about a week).
2. Wait for pairing
A. Once report shows all normal, pairing with donor will proceed (about one month after the report).
B. When a successful pairing is found, the patient will be notified.
C. Call the hospital on the first day of the next menstruation and schedule the treatment on the third day.
3. Proceed with the treatment
A. On the 3rd day of menstruation, visit the doctor for a blood test, ultrasound, and ovulation injection.
B. Follow-up sessions during the treatment period.
C. Come back to the hospital for the retrieval of the egg on the morning of about the 14th to the 16th day of menstruation.
D. After a successful retrieval, the patient can enjoy a complimentary meal and receive a nutrition benefit.
E. Return to the hospital three days after the operation to evaluate the postoperative recovery status. Daily routine can be resumed after the next menstruation.
⋙ Common questions about the donation- How long will the entire process take?
The health checkup report will take about 1 week to complete. We will send the information to the Department of Health for review. Pairing will commence about 1 month after when the National Health Service’s reply is received.
After receiving the consultant's notice, the patient will wait until the third day of menstruation to commence the treatment process, taking about 2 to 3 weeks time to complete until the retrieval of the eggs.
- What are the precautions for commencing a donor egg treatment?
If drugs or medication are taken (including traditional Chinese medicine), please be sure to inform your doctor before proceeding with the treatment.
Please make sure that follow-up sessions are done as scheduled without any interruptions, otherwise it will affect the condition of the follicles during that period.
If you know in advance that you cannot return to the hospital as scheduled, please inform the doctor during your visit session so that the injection dose can be adjusted. Most importantly, you should never lose contact with the doctor for no reason!
- How many times can I donate?
Once the beneficiary mother already given birth, she cannot donate again.
- Will the donor’s personal information be disclosed?
No. According to Article 13 of the Assisted Reproduction Act of Taiwan, medical institutions should disclose the race, skin color and blood type data of the donor to the couple undergoing treatment as a reference. The rest of the data is confidential.
- Can I choose the recipient?
According to Article 13 of the Assisted Reproductive Act of Taiwan, medical institutions implementing assisted reproduction cannot be used by specific donors at the request of donors.
- If after donation I have a change of mind, can I request for a return?
According to Article 19 of the Assisted Reproduction Act of Taiwan, the donor cannot request for return of any germ cells after they’ve been donated. However, if after donation, the donors have been diagnosed by doctors or proved to have reproductive dysfunction may request the return of any germ cells that haven’t been destructed.
- Is there a high possibility of my child meeting the offspring of the donor in the future?
Once the recipient has given birth, then the donor will never be able to donate again. Therefore the chance is very small.
However, if one is really worried, the Department of Health allows the inquiry about the kinship of assisted reproduced children. The child of the beneficiary and their legal guardian can apply to check whether the marriage partner has any direct kinship relationship, but the actual information of the donor will not be disclosed!
Our hospital is an accredited and qualified reproductive center that is evaluated by the Department of Health, the Executive Yuan. The donation will be strictly confidential. The files are only stored in the Department of Health and as confidential documents in the hospital. Please rest assured ~

⋙ Donation Process
1. Make appointment
A. Online registration/call in for inquiry.
B. Receive a phone call within a week.
C. Go to 2nd Floor of the Reproductive Medical Center for sperm collection (needs to wait for about 1 hour for the test report).
Sperm anomaly → adjust the lifestyle routine schedule, then proceed again
Normal spermatozoa → arrange for blood test, urine test and physical health checkup
2. Waiting for pairing
A. Wait for the test report and send it to the Department of Health, Executive Yuan for review (about 3 weeks).
B. Take a blood test 6 months later (AIDS incubation period).
C. Once approved by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, wait for pairing.
3. After a successful, the patient can receive a nutrition benefit.
⋙ Common questions about the donation- How long will the entire process take?
It takes about 1 hour to complete the sperm collection, and the health check report takes about 1 week. We will send the data to Ministry of Health and Welfare for review. Once the confirmation reply from the Ministry of Health and Welfare is received, pairing will commence.
Six months after the donation (the AIDS incubation period), the patient will receive notice for a follow-up evaluation blood test. The patient will receive a nutrition benefit if no problem is found.
- How are the semen collected?
Lee Women’s Hospital has three private and elegant semen collection rooms. The method of obtaining semen is by masturbation, where the patient just needs to inject the semen directly into the sterile sperm collection bottle provided by the Reproductive Medical Center.
- What will happen if the donated semen is unqualified?
(1) The sperm bank will discard it.
(2) If the donor wishes to take back the specimen, they will need to do so within seven days, otherwise it shall be deemed to be a waiver of the patient’s rights.
Donors must not object to the above two methods, and must make a choice before donation and sign a consent form.
- How many times can I donate?
